Welcome!

Welcome to The Catholic Campus Ministry Center, a welcoming faith group rooted in Catholic tradition. We are a group of individuals who strive to grow in faith, through the sacraments and service. Our ministry is open to all students, faculty and staff of Shepherd University.

All are welcome to this ministry and we hope that you will find a home here with us.  Our center houses a kitchen, lounge, study room, prayer room, chapel, and spacious backyard.  Students have access to kitchen facilities, printing, Wi-Fi, cell phone/computer chargers, and laundry.  A library of spiritual/religious books and media, and prayer resources including rosaries, prayer books, and reservation chapel with tabernacle available during the semester.  The center is supervised by the campus minister, Ross Semler and the ministry chaplain, Fr. Cody Ford.

The sacrament of reconciliation is available to students with Fr. Cody every Friday 10am to 3pm.  Mass is held at the house on Sundays at 6:30pm.

History

The Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston has long supported the needs of Catholic students at Shepherd University.

In 2004, Catholic Campus Ministry was officially formed as a student group on campus. Mass was held on campus about once a month. Students often participated in the life of the area parishes. In 2006, the Diocese of Wheeling Charleston decided to hire a part-time campus minister to serve the needs of the students. Finally in 2008, the Good Shepherd Catholic Campus Ministry Center was blessed and dedicated. The Center allows students an opportunity for fellowship and outreach, as well as a weekly place for Liturgy.
