Hello friends in Christ! Welcome back to Shepherd, even if you’re attending virtually. This semester, things are going to be a little different while we continue to adapt to these lockdown restrictions. Our chapel will be open this semester for individual use! By emailing ShepherdCatholic@gmail.com or texting 681-242-8449, you can schedule time for Eucharistic Adoration, spiritual direction, or just individual prayer. Unfortunately, we are not going to be holding public Mass for at least the first month of school. We will resume Masses if the lockdown regulations are eased, or when the weather gets warmer and we can have Mass outdoors, whichever comes first. Local parishes are offering public Mass. Our chaplain, Fr. Cody Ford says Mass at St. James Catholic Church in Charles Town, WV. Their Mass times are Saturday at 5pm, Sunday at 8am, 11am and 6pm. I (Ross, campus minister) lead music at St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Inwood, WV. Their Mass times are Saturday at 5pm and Sunday at 10am. The nearest parish, St. Agnes in Shepherdstown has one Mass time at 10:30am on Sundays, their seating is limited to 30 people and you must contact their office to make a reservation and watch a training video on their website on how to attend Mass. Weekday Mass is offered by the Canons Regular of the New Jerusalem in the Extraordinary Form at the Monastery located at 301 S George St, Charles Town, WV 25414. Their weekday Masses are at 8am and 11:15am.

While this is all remains strange, there are still ways to stay connected to your faith and your Catholic community. Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you need anything else!

Blessings,
Ross Semler; Director of Campus Ministry
